Rain/Sun/Rain/Sun make up ya friggin mind!

The weekend passes by way too fast. I just started to relax and it's time to go to work again. Doesn't help when the weather can't make up its mind.. The heavens opened up yesterday.. cold n gloomy, typical winter weather. All outdoorsey plans had to be scrapped.. ugh. Spent most of the morning hiding under the doona.. mmm toasty. And the rest of the day watching the olympics and playing LOTR: Return of the King again, this time on the Xbox. The PS2 version is heaps better... I mean watching the cutscene the first time is fine... but after the upteenth time of Gandalf going on and on about Fanghorn forest is enough to make me join the orcs in the forest to be squished by the ents!! The Xbox version just refuses to skip the cut scenes!! GODDAMN... Gave up on the game and played Mashed instead... Fun game... reminds me of Mario Go-Kart with flame throwers and missiles.. haha.

The Danish and Norwegian contingent had some really good looking atheletes... *drool* The Aussies had just about the worst costume. Ugh tacky green with white stars symbolising the southern cross. The Mambo attire they wore during the Sydney Olympics was way better.

Today the heavens decreed that it be a sunny day... to suck up to the footy fans i bet. :P St Kilda was playing today.. against god knows what team. Work tomorrow.. woooo. Good thing that it takes me just 10 mins to walk to work =)

I've been sick... .pity me... What's it with being sick and the NEED to be babied to within an inch of your life? Cos it makes you feel better!! I've been feeling better, but sometimes a little cough or sniffle works wonders in getting a little sympathy from your other half :) I can be such a sneaky little bitch sometimes.. But I do return the favour when he gets sick!

Shopping for office wear when you're the size of a kender is no fun. Everything needs to be altered. Goddamn, to have 2 skirts altered in length costs abt as much as another skirt! ugh.

I start work on Monday... after resigning from my old job on Tuesday. Was a bit sad to think that I'd never set foot there again. I can be a sentimental wreck sometimes, specially with things ending... High school, uni... first job... I forsee a lifetime of sentimentality... I'm doomed.

 

 

Time to burn

Finally starting a new job! I can leave my current job that requires the brain power of a gnat! =) I'm so amped! It's still in a call center, but it's a considerably smaller one, with better cohesion i feel. Not just a face in the crowd. Or rather as my soon-to-be-ex company succinctly puts it: "....bums on seats". With so many people coming and going, I felt that I was in a cattle market. Hopefully this will change when I start with the new company at the begining of August. I'm itching to write my resignation letter =) Not to say that the people at the call center are ogres or anything.. Some are really really nice. 'Specially Deepak and Ravi who provide me with books to read (so I don't die of boredom during the really quiet days) and Nath, who's such a West Coast Eagles and PS2 maniac. He cracks me up everytime. I'll miss all of  them :(

I've gotten my hands on the 2 games I've been waiting anxiously for...or rather the only game I've been waiting ages for.. Onimusha 3! The other game, Drakengard is just to satisfy my dragon-flying curiosity. The opening sequence of Onimusha 3 just blew my mind! Oh man.. it was like watching a chinese kung-fu movie. The fight scenes are sublime.. I don't mind watching the opening scene over and over again. It doesn't hurt that the original hero from Onimusha is back.. Samanosuke is such eye-candy.. *yum*. He's actually modeled after the actor who voices him: Takeshi Kaneshiro.. *double yum*. It also has one of the most likable actors around.. Jean Reno. Bravo capcom..to the return of Samanosuke.. I have nothing against the hero of Onimusha 2.. but Jubei just makes me want to yell "monkey boy!" everytime there's a cut scene with him in it.. which is EVERY TIME.

One on my favourite online comics have come back online! Well, it's been back awhile, but I've only recently rediscovered it after it's creator, Josh Sortelli, decided to resume making people split their sides after a break of a couple of months. Elf Only Inn is centered on a chat room of the same name and the people who meet up to chat and role-play. At least that's what the original plan was, according to its obsessive, control freak host.. hahah it's a riot! Elf Only Inn It warms the heart, it does.

Amway = Evil

I feel that I've been sleeping for the past 3 days straight. It all started when I was rostered for a late shift on Friday, and an early one on satday. Less than 9 hrs since I got of work on friday, I was back at work on Satday morning.. *groan* V is your friend. After the shift ended yesterday, I got home, and fell asleep at 8 til this morning.. I think I overdosed on sleep.

On an unrelated note, a friend's been trying to get me and my sister interested in a business venture. After being persuaded to go to the "meeting", I found there was a lot of suspiciously happy and friendly people there. Like they were high on something. As the speaker started talking, he kept hammering the concept of financial freedom...the freedom to do whatever you want and the means to do so. I noticed that he avoided talking about what the business venture was until about 45 minutes after he started talking. By then I was feeling highly suspicious, plus I was zoning out at the same time. When he started talking about direct selling, I woke up.. it started to sound like an Amway scheme. Things started falling into place. No wonder the people there were so happy.. they were happy for new blood..new blood to suck dry. When he actually mentioned the word Amway, I nearly jumped out off may chair and said "Aha!".

I've been trying to think of ways to tactfully tell my friend to run.. run far away from that company. She seems rather brain-washed at the moment. Will try my luck when we meet up to watch Spiderman 2.

Work sucks i know....

Just got sent home from work after 3 hrs...! Idiots and their stupid extranet security system. For some reason, my little black beeper thingy that generates random RSA keys refuses to work with the RSA server. All I get are failed logins.. grrr. How long does it take to reset the thing? I can't wait to get into helpdesk n be the person that says "the problem is being looked at.. please be patient" and you damn well know that everybody's gone home for the day and your problem won't be fixed til tomorrow.

No work = no pay... I'll say it again,.... IDIOTS. Don't you ever say "temporary casual" in my presence. I'll clobber you with that little beeper. Slow yet satisfying.....ahhh

First post....

Here it is... my very first post. Just cos I wanted to add a comment on my twin sis's site, I had to sign up :P I have absolutely nothing to say. Will write more as events develop... oh the suspense!

Current favourite ad: the anti-indigestion ad (whatever it's called) where a girl sits right above a tank with a shark in it and she's trailing her cut finger in the water. The "pleasure and pain" song by The Divinyls is a nice touch =)
